History of Maco Tool
Maco Tool was started in 1964 as a five-person shop in the back of an agricultural manufacture in downtown St. Johns , MI., as Maco Tool & Die.
In 1974 Maco Tool merged with Clinton Tool & Engineering, of St. Johns, and became Maco Tool & Engineering at the present location of 210 Spring St. St. Johns, Michigan.
The company has become a major supplier of tooling and machines for many well-known companies such as Lear, John Deere, Federal Mogul, DBT America Mining, and Volvo-Mack, with tooling and machines through out the entire world.
In 1983, Federal Mogul approached owners Ed Idzkowski and Harold Lundy that a tooling source was needed in the Virginia area. In 1984, a small shop was open in Christiansburg, VA. to support that Federal Mogul plant.
Since that time it has grown to a 12,000 sq.ft. 12 person, modern machining facility that serves many companies across the southeast US, and even nation-wide. They take pride in their offering of tooling, fabrication, welding, water-jet cutting, and machine build services.
The St. Johns location has grown to an 18,000 sq. ft., 18 person facilities offering the latest technology in machining of tools steels, welding/fabrication, “turn key” machine build, and machine rebuild.
Both plants are employee owned and motivated to offer the best in quality machining, “on time” service, and reliability to keep your company running smooth and efficiently.
